From the Cubmasters Cabin,

Hello All,
We up here in cabin wonder whatever became of winter, but if this global warming, then I'll take it.

We have some scout events for your scouts and families coming up. First off, sorry for the cancellation notice around our Jan. Pack Mtg, but this time, old man winter showed up, but, we were able to re-schedule our Pack Mtg for this coming Friday, Feb 10th at 7:00pm at the church. We will be having the magician come for the kids, some awards for the scouts, and the popcorn awards have finally arrived, sorry for the delay on these.

In addition, it is Scout Sunday at the church on Feb.13th and will be a 10:30 service. All scouts and there families are welcome and encouraged to attend for this as we celebrate the 102nd anniversary of Scouting and give thanks to the church for their continued support of Pack 636. If you aregoing to attend, then please have your scout were his Class A uniform for this. Hope we can all show some strength in numbers for this!!!!!

At the Pack Mtg. Friday night, I will be making some important announcements around other future events we will have planned and they will, of course,be on an updated newsletter for all to take home with them as this is the best way to keep organized and updated on your family's scout functions.

Hope to see all on Friday.

**All those in leadership or committee positions should have completed their training.  Please check the following link to check your certifications or finish up a training component:  http://olc.scouting.org

** Remember we are always looking to both improve and expand our program. Any suggestions, comments or concerns are always appreciated. Volunteers individual talent and ideas create the environment making this program work. THANK YOU to all the dedicated people who make things happen! This is a team effort for the benefit of the kids (They are tomorrow’s leaders and our future). Every effort no matter the size is greatly appreciated!

Trail of the Month

This month is Beyer’s Pond. It is located in Berea on Main St., just east of Eastland Rd. You can get there by traveling down Fowles Rd. toward Berea, turning left on Eastland. At the stop sign, turn left onto Main St., park is on left. Beyer’s Pond is actually 4 ponds, with the largest along a level trail. Continue along thru dense foliage and you might spot deer, a number of songbirds, and even some turtles, a kids favorite. At the main pond, the fall colors show up on the water’s surface, allowing you to see nature’s canvas at work. It is a great hike for family and self-reflection.
